Sooner or later, in our working life, a peak will be reached where we are stuck in our current career.  You can be stuck in the middle level position where you cannot advance further due to the lack of paper qualification or advancement opportunity.

At that point of time, you'll bound to feel dissatisfied and you can't really decide whether you should go for a career change or stay on with the present company.  Probably, there are many things for you to consider as you are getting older, have a family, loans commitment to pay or credit cards bills yet to be settle.  You simply can't afford to be unemployed for any period of time for any career change or to start your own business.

Don't panic if you are stuck in such situations and you should take time to discover yourself.  Explore what you enjoy doing most and note down what other skills you might have or would like to acquired. 

Starting on a new career opportunities doesn't mean that you have to do it full time.  Many people who are disappointed with their current career advancement start by doing it part time.

First, try to learn more about the alternative career that you are interested.  Network with people who have the skills and knowledge or volunteer in your new field. Draft out a career plan and think about how you are going to achieved it. 

Always remember that a career change is a learning process.  Nothing can stop you if you have the desire to do it.  Just look at the numbers of people starting a work from home career every year.  It doesn't happened overnight.  Those people who successful created their own work from home career spend time and effort on it as they want to quit the corporate world. 

As employees, you should know that you are just like a pawn on a chess board.  You are disposal at anytime as the company restructured again and again.  Once you are retrenched, you have no other income and many people who are unprepared usually end up in a low paying job which they dislike but have no choice as their family need the income. 

Trying for a work from home career early not only allows you to earn a second full time income.  Most importantly, you are developing a new job skills as you explore more career options for yourself. 

Many who get started on a home career later developed new skills, interest and friendship which they would not have discover if they continue to remained at the same old job.  They are so passionate about their home career that it eventually became a full time job, making them more money then their previous full time employment.

Now, get started and plan for yourself a home career before you are forced to do it.  You can never know what you can achieve unless you "TRY IT".
