Answers:

  1) Use multiples to find the same days.

  Days        Multiples by days
 2 days       2     4    6    8   12
 3 days       3     6    9    12
 4 days       4     8    12

So use 12 + 5 (5th of June) = 17
Therefore, she will do all 3 types of cleaning on 17th June.

  2) Total = 640 stamps
                    Units
      Roy       1     1     1
      Chris     1
      Janice    1 and 45 more
      Total = 5 units

      640 - 45 = 595
      595 / 5 = 119
      119 + 45  = 164

 Janice received 164 stamps.

  3) 3 x 2 = 6 (a shirt cost twice as much as a pair of shorts)
      (a) 72 / 12 = 6

A pair of shorts cost $6

      (b)  6 x 2 = 12 (a shirt cost twice as much as a pair of shorts)
            12 x 4 = 48

Therefor the cost of 4 shirts is $48

  4) (a) 2 + 4 = 6
      There were 6 pupils.

      (b) 6 x 7 - 4 = 38
       She bought 38 stickers.

Notes:
   6-6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42
 +2-8, 14, 20, 26, 32, 38, 44

   7-7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42
  -4-3, 10, 17, 24, 31, 38

   38 + 4 = 42
   42 /  7 = 6

   38 - 2 = 36
   36 / 6 = 6

Same answer 6.
 a) So there were 6 pupils.
 b) She bought 38 stickers.

  5) Assumption  Total 32 notes     Amount 121:
      Start 5 + 2 = 7
      121 / 7 = 17.29

      17 x 5 = 85
      15 x 2 = 30  Total 115

      18 x 5  = 90
      14 x 2 = 28  Total 118

      19 x 5 = 95
      13 x 2 = 26  Total 122

He had 19 five dollar notes.
