I work in the IT industry and vote in favor of the Internet of Things to be used in our home.  However, we are still in the developing stages and do not vote in favor of people using Digital Lock.

As per my doubt on the safety of digital lock, news broke out that a family of seven was trap in their Forestville executive condominium in Woodlands after their digital lock to the main door failed to work during a fire cause by an e-bike.  Luckily, no one was hurt in this case.

Many of my friends bought Digital Lock for their convenience without giving thoughts on what happen during a power failure or when the digital lock is being stress by heat.  Our main door is our line of safety in critical time which you can never predict and you need regular maintenance safety test if you use a digital lock.  However, many people do not would wish to fork out the maintenance cost and just enjoy the convenience that it brings.
