APO Impact of Changes

Question:

There is a scenario wherein APO is implemented & the Business is planning to release the planned data on weekly basis instead of earlier Monthly basis in APO.

My query is there any impact that shall take place on R/3 side once this change takes place and if yes where it shall impact and where we need to check apart from the fact that MRP shall release the data on weekly basis.

Answer:

The impact of changes depends on what kind of planned data transferred from APO to SAP.

– If you do DP in APO, production planning in PP, of course the lot size parameter and other MRP related data should be revised.

– If you do DP, SNP or PPDS and transfer planned order to SAP, and MRP for parts is in SAP, that should impact much except the MRP parameters for raw material. If you didn’t CIF the production order back to APO, you might need to consider to do so.  The weekly planning may need more detail info of each orders being executed.

– If you do everything in APO, no impact.
