My company has a new BOM design they are trying to implement. However this BOM has the same material A listed 2 times at the same BOM level. This is because there are different alternate parts for the material A depending on whether it is on top or bottom of the motherboard. However, because the material is listed 2 times, when the user releases the production order with it, SAP is merging the material requirements from the 2 and assigning it to only one of the lists. And putting qty 0 for when the material appears the 2nd time. This is causing an error with the shop floor system. And we cannot just delete the 2nd listing of the material, because it has data attached to it that is needed on the line
any ideas on how we can keep the 2 appearances of the material separate? Previously the material was lumped into one line of the BOM, but now they was to separate it into 2 lines so that there can be different alternative parts depending on where on the mother board it is located
