Mindef Singapore have relaxed the used of smartphones in Army camps from March 2016.

If you try searching the internet, you will not be able to find any sales of non-camera smartphones.  Non-camera phones are usually without internet capabilities and in today context, nobody would want to use that.

What SAF personnel do is to either buy a camera smartphone with removal batteries (non-removal batteries are conceal, waterproof and difficult to remove the camera) and ask the mobile shop to remove the camera.

The other alternative is to sandblast your camera lens so that it can be used in your camp red zones.

Under the security zoning system, camp complexes are divided into Red and Green Zones. SAP servicemen are allowed to bring in camera-enabled mobile phones into Green Zones while no camera-enabled devices are allowed into Red Zones. Unauthorised photography and videography remain prohibited in both zones.
