This came out in today Sunday Times where Singapore teenager makes up to $7,000 a month selling slime on their Instagram with around 33,300 followers, some have lesser followers but that does not stop them from making a decent $$$.
The Enterprising Students
Ang Jia Xin – Secondary 4 students at Whitley Secondary School earns an average of $5000 a month by making and selling slime.
Hannah Tan 16, a fourth year music student at School of the Arts (Sota) started selling slime in June 2017 and now earns $3000 to $4000 a month.
Adele Lim 18, a third year law and management student at Temasek Polytechnic took about 500 tubs of slime price at $7.50 each in over 30 flavours to sell at a slime bazaar earns a profits of $2000 from the bazaar alone. She mentioned that she spent two hours a day for two weeks making the slime.
The Hard Work
Jia Xin spends 15 to 18 hours each week mixing over 30 litres of glue with add-ons to create eight to ten slime favours. She invested $1600 on a heavy duty commercial mixer to do most of the mixing as the quantity is too much to handle manually.
