{"id":618,"date":"2019-06-30T05:48:33","date_gmt":"2019-06-30T05:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gotothings.com\/blog\/?p=618"},"modified":"2019-06-30T05:51:08","modified_gmt":"2019-06-30T05:51:08","slug":"students-in-slimy-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gotothings.com\/blog\/students-in-slimy-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Students in Slimy Business"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This came out in today Sunday Times where Singapore teenager makes up to $7,000 a month selling slime on their Instagram with around 33,300 followers, some have lesser followers but that does not stop them from making a decent $$$.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Enterprising Students<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ang Jia Xin &#8211; Secondary 4 students at Whitley Secondary School earns an average of $5000 a month by making and selling slime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hannah Tan 16, a fourth year music student at School of the Arts (Sota) started selling slime in June 2017 and now earns $3000 to $4000 a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adele Lim 18, a third year law and management student at Temasek Polytechnic took about 500 tubs of slime price at $7.50 each in over 30 flavours to sell at a slime bazaar earns a profits of $2000 from the bazaar alone.  She mentioned that she spent two hours a day for two weeks making the slime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Hard Work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jia Xin spends 15 to 18 hours each week mixing over 30 litres of glue with add-ons to create eight to ten slime favours.  She invested $1600 on a heavy duty commercial mixer to do most of the mixing as the quantity is too much to handle manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Sunday Times<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/lifestyle\/teenagers-earn-four-figure-sums-a-month-selling-slime\">https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/lifestyle\/teenagers-earn-four-figure-sums-a-month-selling-slime<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Slime originated in the US and caught on in Singapore four years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opportunities are always there if you care to observe when you are in other countries and you can always bring the ideas to Singapore.
