The sad fact facing all of us as corporate employees is that holding a job has become more risky than those who are self employed.  The globalize economy have created a borderless world where corporate business can move their production to countries that have the lowest labour and manufacturing cost.  Employees continually are going to face the pressure of job loss or being force to accept overseas work or face the chop of the axe.

Before the industrial revolution, the majority of the people work from their home as black smiths, shop keepers, hair dresser etc. to earn a living.  Life was easy and simple as each of them work in their own small family business.

After the industrial revolution, better and easier ways were found to complete tasks and businesses begin to expand and it was also followed by a baby boom.  More and more employees were required to fulfilled the business expansion as consumer demand exploded.    Companies started to compete for employees, offering them with better compensations package.  Thus, many young people were attracted by these companies as they saw a brighter future working for these companies as compare with those little earnings they make from their small family business.

During the booming years, corporate employees can count on their company for their retirement as many companies offer them with generous retirement benefits which can sustain them through the golden years.  In the good old days, all you need is to worked hard, slog for the company and in return, the company would take care of you for the rest of your life.

Come today, we can see the corporate working trend changing from employee friendly to unfriendly.

More and more companies are now more concern about their own bottom line profits rather than their employees.  Employees once treated with dignity and respect are constantly lay off as businesses move their jobs overseas.  Retirement plans and benefits are being scaled down or totally taken out. 

The change of business environment have lead to many dissatisfied employees who started to wonder what the future holds for them as they could be jobless anytime in the days to come.

Ok, now this article is written not to create any hates against any corporate businesses but to let you understand the change of employment environment.  It is not to encourage you go out and start gathering people to protest against globalization.

Actually, the purpose is let you know and understand that you have to learn how to adapt to the forever changing business environment.  If you analyze the current trend you will realize that it is not such a bad thing after all.  The previous years of employment boom have made the country lost many of the entrepreneur spirit as people are less inclined to take risk due to the reliance on corporate jobs.

Humans are the only creative creatures living in this world.  When they are faced with the unemployment crises, I believe that they have the ability to think of other ways to make a living instead of depending on corporate jobs to feed them.

Most would be leveraging on the internet to build their own successful jobs from home rather than relying on the highly risky corporate jobs.
