How Can You Gain the Edge Against other Affiliates

If you are like those regular people who start out their online business at home adventures by joining a few affiliate programs, then the information I disclose below is a must to succeed in a highly competitive field!

A couple of years ago when I was first introduced to the affiliate "game" I was eager, full of energy and confident that I could make loads of money promoting all of these different opportunities and products! I had plans and everything sorted out in terms of where I would advertise, when and how much I would spend!

After a few months I became disillusioned by all of these affiliate programs. Here I was spending countless hours and money promoting my products and I was getting Nowhere! My monthly cheques would be in the range of $10 after spending hundreds! It was Not going well.

Over the last two years I learned many things about affiliate programs that over time enabled me to really get going in terms of making money! I realised that I was only one of thousands, sometimes millions of people promoting the same opportunity. Every single affiliate was using the Same turnkey websites, the same places to advertise and even the Same ads!

Be unique, be different and try advertising in places that others wouldn't touch! Below are some keys to being successful with Any affiliate program:

1. Purchase your programs products. Really know what you're offering others who buy or join.

2. Get to know your downline or customers by helping them to succeed.

3. Register your Own domain name! People get tired of seeing URL's like: http://www.mybizop.com/1234 Plus, it's easier to get listed in search engines if you have your own unique domain.

4. Write a unique sales copy on your web site! Don't use the generic copy that thousands of others are using. Always answer the question, "What's in it for me?". People like to know what they'll get out of it!

5. Avoid hyping up your sales copy. No one likes to be "sold" to.

6. Try and get some testimonials. If visitors know what others experienced joining or purchasing products they'll be more likely to purchase or join themselves!

7. Write a newsletter! This is a great way to get people's address and keep in contact with them all the while telling them about your products or opportunity.

8. Add a classifieds or bulletin board section. This is a great way of getting people to return to your site!

9. Try to cut down on huge graphics or too many banners. The longer the page takes to load, the less likely the visitor will stick around and wait!

10. Respond to all emails politely and promptly.

11. Offer free advice or resources. Everyone likes to get something for free! Make sure it's not just junk you're giving away though. People want quality things!

12. Advertise Offline!! Yes, that's right. If you're a part of a particularly big affiliate program you'll find that online advertising sources may sometimes be saturated with the same ads over and over! Try newspapers (local and international), magazines, fliers (to post on bulletin boards around town), and give out business cards!

Even if you try just a few of the pointers I mention above you'll find that your success rate at whichever affiliate Opportunity you're promoting will skyrocket! As always, it still takes great effort and time to be successful at anything you take on. Good luck to all!
