Mandrake 10 Uninstall

Can anyone help me "clean" the boot up sequence on my PC?

I installed mandrake 10 on a fresh 2nd drive to try it out, I've since wiped the drive and I cannot remove the 2nd drive because the startup menu left behind from mandrake doesn't seem to let it boot into XP without the 2nd drive in place.

Does this make any sense to anyone?!

Boot in DOS and type fdisk /mbr
This will wipe out master boot record, forcing creation of a new one (for your windows install only). If that doesn't get it , boot from boot floppy, change to c: then fdisk /mbr

For windoze XP boot off the CD, go to the recovery console and type "fixmbr". There is also a "fixboot" command but I am unsure as to what it does.
