Locking the whole SAP system

SAP System Lock and Unlock

  • Use the command: 

  • tp locksys «SysID» 
    This restricts system access so that only the user SAP* can log in.
  • To cancel the lock, run: 

  • tp unlocksys «SysID»

Connection Between SAP and the Operating System

  • The command: 

  • sapevt 
    can be used to trigger an event from the operating system.
  • As a result, a job previously defined within R/3 will be released.

SQL Error Code Assistance

  • Run the command: 

  • oerr ora «error number» 
    under the user ora«SysID» to obtain details about the specified Oracle error.

Oracle Import and Export Utilities

  • Run the command: 

  • imp help=yes 
    under the user ora«SysID» to display help information for the import utility.
  • The same format can also be applied to:
    • exp
    • impst
    • expst
