Quick Tricks

• Find tools fast: Press the Windows key and X to see a list of helpful computer tools.
• Rename lots of files: Choose a bunch of files, press F2, type a new name, and hit Enter to rename them all quickly.
• Open programs super fast: Press the Windows key and a number (1-9) to open programs you use a lot.
• Oops, I closed a tab! Press Ctrl, Shift, and T together to bring back the last website you closed.
• Type the address faster: Press Alt and D to quickly type a new place to go in your file explorer.
• Take a picture of part of your screen: Press the Windows key, Shift, and S to take a picture of just what you want.
• Make your own shortcuts: Many programs let you make your own shortcuts. Look for “shortcuts” or “keyboard” in the settings.
• Redo something in the command prompt: Press F7 to see things you typed before and do them again. You can also copy and paste with Ctrl C and Ctrl V.
• Lock your computer fast: Press the Windows key and L to lock your computer right away.
• Search with a picture: Drag a picture into Google search or right-click it and choose “Search Google for image” to find similar pictures.
