Nowadays, many people somehow will have some additional smartphone lying in our home. If you have kids or old folks at home, you can actually re-used them as security camera to check on your loved ones.

The TrackView apps can turns your smartphones, tablets and PCs into a connected IP camera with GPS locator, event detection, alert and cloud/route recording capabilities. I am only using the free version to check on my home on and off. The paid version have more features but if you are only interested in normal monitoring, the free ads version is more than enough.

It is rather simple to setup. You just need to login to your gmail account from both smartphone and you can now do a security check on your home.
