Recently, I tried this new SoCash to withdraw money from a mini mart that was near my home.  The apps was very simple and easy to use and it is link to your PayLah apps whenever you need to withdraw cash without ATM.

SoCash apps will list down for you the nearby shops who are their partners that allowed you to draw cash.  Some shops like 7-11 require a purchase of any cheapest item and there are also mini mart that does not need any purchase.  If you see a shop with the Promo indicator, this mean that if you withdraw cash of $30, you will get a cash rebate of $1 for your next cash withdrawal.   This mean that only $29 will be deducted for your next withdrawal of $30.

Currently, for any new sign-up, SoCash is giving away $5 for your 2nd cash withdrawal.  So, you are actually earning money for withdrawing cash.  This mean that when you make your 2nd withdrawal of $30, only $25 is deducted.

Basically, I think this SoCash apps is pretty useful especially when there are no ATM near your home.

Please note that Non-DBS/POSB account holders can use PayLah if they have a savings/current account with a bank which offers FAST (Fast and Secure Transfers) services in Singapore.

Once you’ve registered, you can top up funds into the PayLah mobile wallet using your internet banking account with which you can then send money to friends, and pay for things online. You can also receive funds into the mobile wallet, and transfer it into your linked bank account. You can also use the PayNow service to transfer funds to your contacts, using just their mobile phone number or IC number.

  1. It was once a good way to earn cash back for drawing money when the cash rebates was $1. It is decreasing from 0.40 to 0.30 per withdrawal of SGD 30. The attractiveness is getting lesser.
