This is my first post and did not expect that it was due to a WordPress error after my initial installation.

Got this WordPress error after the initial Hostgator quick installation:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’, expecting ‘,’ or ‘;’ in /home3/xxxxx777/public_html/gotothings.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/optinmonster/OMAPI/Api.php on line 19

What I did was to FTP into my hosting account and deleted the whole /optinmonster/ sub-directory.

It works after that.

You can report this via https://optinmonster.com/contact-us/ so that the plugin’s developers can help you with this but I did not do this as I don’t need this plugin for now.
