To be able to win in your life,
you must begin by developing a winning attitude in life. Individuals
who wins have a love of pursuing their goal and an enthusiasm for the risk
and the adventure of the ride. Remember, quitter
never wins and winner never quits.
Let me tell you honestly, it is all about the journey and not the end result. Many famous individuals have confided that the moment after they won a long yearned-for prize, they felt a sense of flatness. All of us have felt that same feeling at some time in our lives, after the initial exhilaration of the achievement of a goal. As you can see, we are really goal-seeking mechanisms and what gives us the thrill, is the adventure of setting new goals which expand our experience, and also, the journey. However, that does not mean that setting goal is unimportant if we want to win in life, but the moment of final triumph is usually short-lived. Do you noticed that is many film stars feel they need to do something for other people when they have achieved fame themselves. Fame only focused on itself and it limits our happiness. In order to further our success, we must expand ourselves further outwards to involve other people in the universe. This self expansion, surprisingly, adds to our own happiness and satisfaction. Besides developing a winning attitude in life, you must also learn to enjoy every one of the moments leading up to your triumph. There are going to face daily triumphs, monthly and yearly triumphs. Learning to develop a winning attitude in life includes harnessing the power of the moment, for it is in the moment, that the power lies. Learn to focus on the present moment as it gives you more energy. Don't spend energy on thinking about future events, whether it be worrying or guessing outcomes is wasted. Every moment you spend on thinking about future events is really robbing energy from the present moment and winning is all about practice. I happened to know a friend who was a wonderful example of developing a winning attitude in life and who enthusiastically embraced every part of the journey. David, was an actor, and even when he got his first minor roles and his image flashed on the screen for a fleeting instant, he played the role 100%. In his mind, he always knew that he wanted to obtain a major role in a dramatic film which highlighted social issues but he never was solely concentrated on that as hee was too busy enjoying the tiny steps along the way. As you grow older and you look back on life, you will realize that life itself, is really a journey, and learning to gain the maximum power from the present moment and enjoying every little step along the way is a revelation of how to win in your life. |
