Intelligence is simply the ability to gain and apply knowledge and skills. So, if you are able to gain and apply what you have learn, then you have intelligence. It's not what you know that makes you intelligent, what you know and how you apply what you know shows your real intelligence. Being able to make intelligent decisions for different aspects of your life at different times is something that you'll have to do many times throughout your life. It isn't smart to know something and continue to not act upon what you know. This is pretty silly. We have all been guilty of this sin, but making it a habit can spell disaster. You can learn how to improve your mind and intelligent throughout life through these methods: Becoming An Avid Reader Have the habits of reading books, magazines, articles and research things that challenge your currently level of thinking. Reading is a method for acquiring information. Whether you are consciously aware of it or not, what you read will influence some of your actions. You the person in charge for what goes into your mind. You will see that the more you read, the more you will know, thus helping you to apply that knowledge in your life. Being Curious Through observing people, animals, and nature itself you can learn a lot. Just watching them and being curious as to why they behave the way they do can help you learn more about life and even yourself. Ask people lots of questions and listen to the responses you get. Become a nuisance, if there is something you want to know, find out. Don't worry too much about how you may be perceived. Just ask. Have meaningful conversations with all types of people too. You can learn a lot from older people as well as younger ones. You can learn a lot from different cultural backgrounds than yours. Picking people's brain should be a sport, honestly! Making Mistakes Most learning is really done by making mistakes, whether they're yours or someone else's. You learn more from mistakes than you would had you not made any. Ways on how and what to improve are noticed, your strengths and weaknesses identified. Mistakes will show you, sometimes in no uncertain terms what you need to do and where you messed up. Keeping An Open Mind Learning new and different ideas to your own, experiencing things that challenge your thoughts and perspective. Avoid being a 'know it all'. Instead, keep an open mind to suggestions, information and experiences. This doesn't mean you need to follow it, simply means that you have other perspectives to consider before you make an intelligent choice. Final Mind Thoughts Make it a life habit to read stuff which will challenge your mind and enable you to have more perspectives to base your choices on. Get curious, ask questions about many things, observe the world around you but do not get consumed by it and enjoy lots of stimulating conversations with growth orientated individuals. Don't be afraid of making mistakes as everyone makes them. Anyone who is successful in life as made plenty.
