Give an explanation about how the traffic lights on
MD06 screen works?
MD06 traffic lights are used as a visual aid for your planners (MRP controllers) to see when certain exception messages pop up on their associated materials. The traffic lights are user specific, so each user can set their own traffic light definitions based on the exception message groups. To set the traffic lights, you must first execute the report. Once in the report you can click the "Define Traffic Light" button and a new screen will be displayed. The screen should contain 8 exception groups (1 - 8 are standard delivered SAP). Each number here has certain exception messages associated with it. To see how the MRP exception messages are grouped, click the "Exception Groups" at the bottom of the new screen. Once you have decided which groups should have the highest priority on the planners list, you can change your traffic lights accordingly. The best practice in our business is to define these "high priority" items with the RED traffic light. The least importance would be defined as a GREEN. Also, on the traffic light definition screen, you can specify the traffic lights for the Days’ supply. Remember though, that the days’ supply is a view based on the MRP date ranges you are requesting, so if you do NOT put an end date in, all MRP elements are taken into consideration and you may end up with false information on the days’ supply. Notes: To customize the traffic light for all users (default option). Since these traffic lights are user settings: Go to MD04 Collective access. Enter MRP Area / Plant Enter MRP Controller /Vendor Collective list of materials will appear. At the top of the screen , Define Traffic light button will be there. When you click on that you can visit the screen for defining traffic lights. Define traffic light depending on ranges of coverage. Define traffic light depending on exception groups. You carry out the necessary settings for traffic light and save. Try using MD06 as well or in MD05 After executing the report in MRP list: material list screen click on push button ---> define traffic light. |
