Introduction About two weeks ago, I had someone sit down with me and tell me, "You are the author of your own life story, so why not make your story as clear as possible?" And at first, it sounded strange. It sounded like the same story I have ever heard from someone who called themselves "motivating" me. The Past But then they told me to look at where I was this time last year. And I did. This time last year, I had just quit my job. I was looking for a job where I could be happy. I wanted an upgrade from the house I was living in. I wanted a house that had an upstairs and downstairs. I didn't want carpet. I wanted a dog. I wanted a real love with a man who wanted the same thing. I wanted to be surrounded by people who were like-minded. I wanted to be more financially responsible. The Present
The Point But the point of this story is to say that I immediately had to realize that everything he was telling me was true. I have always been taught that there is power in the tongue. I have always been told to speak things into existence. Whenever I have interviewed for a job that I really wanted, I then spoke of it as if it was already done. Whenever I wanted something, I went for it and did not stop trying until I got it, all these bring you up to another level. You Are The Author Of Your Own Life Story That's how this life thing works. Set a goal. Challenge yourself towards what you desire and make your mind up that you won't stop until you get it and then grind. When your mind is made up and your heart is set on one thing, you automatically take the actions to get you to where you want to be. When you have a plan, the will to accomplish your goals, there is nothing that can stop you. Your Life Purpose What is your purpose? What have you always wanted to do? What is your lifelong dream? What makes your heart smile? That's your purpose. There is no way you were put on this earth to be average. You were put on this earth for a reason. Realize your reason. Gaining New Perspectives When you write about personal experiences, you may gain new perspectives on what happened. Have you ever told a friend a funny story and recalled more about what occurred as you spoke? You sit there laughing from your gut, and then your laugh becomes even louder because the more you recall, the funnier it is. Sometimes telling your story helps you gain even more insight about the situation. This is because you're taking a step back and considering the bigger picture. You can actually broaden your perspective as you share. Why not share the laughter with someone who needs to read a funny story to lighten his or her own load? Your Own Life Story You can create your own Happy Story, Love Story, Success Story or Whatever You Want Story by changing the way you think, speak and feel about your self and your experiences, past, present and future. Bear in mind that if you keep writing, thinking and talking about negative experiences that's what the story will predominantly be about. The more attention you give to things the more you continue to attract them into your life. Einstein's definition of insanity is a favourite of mine. He said insanity was doing the same things over and over and hoping for a different result. So if we want a different result we need to change what we are doing. Therefore, if you consistently think, write, talk about and visualise positive experiences and outcomes that's the story you are creating for yourself for the future - at this very moment. Creating Your Life Story Write about, talk to yourself about, think about, see your positive future as if it is happening now. Pay attention to every detail. Hear the dialogue, the music; feel those uplifting emotions right through your body. Affirm, visualise, rehearse the story you want in your mind. Conclusion Everyone do have a life story to tell. My invitation to you is to begin some stories about your life and see where they take you and what you learn along the way. You are the author of your own life story.
