Bought Hupsteel @ 0.225 which dividend is 10 SGD per 1000 shares (4.44 % based on 2012 payout). Mr. Market is so irrational. When everyone expect it to go further down, it rebounded so soon. No wonder there was a saying, ' Buy on Fear, Sell on Hope'. For dividend investor, develop a simple stocks purchase principles, keep to your focused, diversified your portfolio and let the magic of compounding does its work. June 21 2013 3,124.45 -8.81 409

Continued to make purchases this week as stock market dive:
Remember, if you are a technical trader, you need to be unemotional and cut losses at 10% and buy only when the uptrend strengthen again. If you are a buy and hold dividend long-term investor, then this is the best time to average down your fundamentally strong companies and earn better dividend payout. June 7 2013 3,184.72 -8.79

Finally, the big drop arrived. So do you panic, sell out or sit and wait. Well, that will depends whether you a short term trader, trend follower, fundamental or a buy and hold dividend investor. Eventually, it is your emotion that will direct your decisions. That is why the market is so unpredictable as everyone will make different decisions even with the same set of information. As dividend investor, we are more concern about the future pay out and company fundamental. We prefer to follow guru like the stock investment strategy of Warren Buffett. Whether the STI is hitting a 5 year high does little difference. In fact, it is much better if the market can go lower as our cost of entry will be lower which will directly improve our dividend rate. May 10 2013 3,443.77 +10.99 337 million

For the week, bought Vicom @ 4.96. Based on my purchase price and 2012 dividend payout, it's about 4% of dividend per 1000 shares. That is around 182 SGD added to my dividend portfolio. As a dividend investor, you need to asked yourself, is the company fundamental strong enough to purchase more shares if it falls by say 20% or more. If you are a car owner, if make business sense that you should owned Vicom since you are already using its service. Vicom is the largest technical testing and vehicle inspection company in Singapore. This week Vicom also announced that its Q1 profit was up 6.5% at $7.46m. May 3 2013 3,369.90 -32.49

Interesting read in The Business Times Weekend page 34 of Show Me The Money by Teh Hooi Ling. Taking a long-term view pays. An experiment done with Malaysian and Indonesian stocks. The experiment shows that investing for the long-term in Fundamental Good companies that pays dividend will be profitable for the Average Investor in the long-run due to the power of compounding. Added Venture Corporation @ 8.37 from open market to my dividend portfolio. At this price you get around 0.059 of dividend which is 500 SGD per 1000 shares based on the 2013 distribution of 0.50%. Venture Corporation is a leading global provider of technology services, products and solutions with established capabilities spanning marketing research, design and development, product and process engineering, design for manufacturability, supply chain management, as well as product refurbishment and technical support across a range of high-mix, high-value and complex products. Trading is difficult for many traders as they make profits from buying low and selling higher or buy higher and sell higher. Many traders failed as it effect their emotion when their purchase stocks failed to move in their profit direction. However, if you are the top 5% who happened to be unemotional and can make quick decision, then you should continue being a trader. Remember that there is always a chance to lose everything in trading. For the majority, in the long run, it will be more profitable if you were to pay attention and find good companies to invest for their dividends. April 19 2013 3,294.05 -2.32
